We are pleased to announce that the General Assembly of the ASMP has unanimously appointed Dr. Sabrina Karib as Executive Director, effective 1 April 2026. The nomination forms part of the Association\u2019s strategy to further strengthen its structure and reinforce its role as a facilitator for the Swiss precious metals industry and its members. <\/p>

Sabrina Karib has already contributed significantly to the Association\u2019s activities and strategic development. She brings extensive experience from the Swiss precious metals sector, including previous roles as Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel and Director of Sustainability for two major Swiss refineries. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Basel focused on ethics and responsible sourcing in gold supply chains. As Founder of the Precious Metals Impact Forum (PMIF), she promoted dialogue across the precious metals sector and contributed to international discussions on responsible sourcing and sustainability. <\/p>

\u201cSabrina Karib has already played a key role in strengthening the Association. Her appointment as Executive Director ensures continuity and provides the leadership needed to further develop the ASMP and its services to members and to the Swiss precious metals industry,\u201d said Christoph Wild, President of the ASMP.<\/p>

This appointment marks an important step in implementing the ASMP\u2019s strategic goal of further developing the Association as the facilitator for the Swiss precious metals industry and its members, and in strengthening its role in promoting excellence, responsibility and transparent dialogue across the sector in Switzerland and globally.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

About ASMP<\/strong> – Founded in 1978, the Swiss Precious Metals Association (ASMP) brings together 16 companies engaged in the processing and trading of precious metals. Its members refine approximately 75% of Switzerland’s gold imports (worth around USD 70 billion), and include three of the world’s largest refineries. The Swiss refining industry adheres to the guidelines of the London Bullion Market Association, the sector\u2019s leading authority, as well as to OECD standards for the responsible sourcing of materials from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. At Swiss federal level, companies in the sector are regulated under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) and monitored by the Central Office for Precious Metals Control, part of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS). <\/em><\/p>
